Godfirst Operations and Finance Manager

As Godfirst church grows both numerically and with the acquisition of The Chapel, we are seeking a highly organised, detail focused, diligent, practical and relational individual who enjoys managing events and buildings, leading volunteer teams, and putting in place effective processes. This person will be a proactive and committed implementor who is able to work with a range of people to collaborate and take a plan and turn it into a reality.

Who are we?

We are Godfirst Church, a contemporary and bible rooted church in the heart of Cheltenham. We are committed to building real and authentic community of Jesus followers, worshipping God first, proclaiming God first and together living God first lives.

Our core values are to be Gospel Centred, Disciple Making, Spirit Empowered and Mission Focused.

In 2010 The Senior Pastor Howard and his wife Naomi together with ten pioneers moved to Cheltenham to plant Godfirst. We now have a worshipping community of around 120 adults and 70 kids and youth.  On a Sunday we meet in the heart of Cheltenham at the Parabola Arts Centre.

We currently are a staff team comprising of the Senior Pastor, an Associate Pastor and a part time Administrator/ Children’s Work Team leader. Until January 2024 we employed two additional part time staff in operations and finance roles.

In 2023 Godfirst acquired a building in central Cheltenham to serve as a base for community life and mission. The Chapel is a beautifully refurbished 19th century grade two listed building. It is home for all church activities (apart from Sunday mornings which remain at the Parabola Arts Centre).

Godfirst is part of the Advance network of churches, which is part of the wider Newfrontiers family of churches. As evangelicals, we affirm statements such as the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith. As part of the universal church, we also hold to the orthodox creeds. As Protestant Christians, we affirm that justification is by faith alone and stand in the tradition of Reformed churches, although we believe water baptism is only for believers, and believe in the continuing gifts of the Holy Spirit.
